Audacity 1.3.x is now obsolete. Please use the current Audacity 2.1.x version.

The final version of Audacity for Windows 98/ME is the legacy 2.0.0 version.

Hi, I have a Tascam US-122 MK II & have downloaded Audacity 1.3. I was able to record my guitar directly through the Tascam - but can only hear my recording when the Tascam is unplugged from my laptop. So I am unable to multi-track record. The only 'record' option in the 'sound' option in Control Panel is 'Sigma Tel Audio', as it is for 'Sound Playback'. Can someone help me???

If you connect your Tascam to the computer and allow Windows time to find it, Windows will probably set it as the default device for recording and playback.
For Audacity to be able to see the Tascam, you must open Audacity after the Tascam is connected to the computer and working. You will then see a USB option in the "Devices" section of Audacity Preferences.
