Been trying to get tape 2 pc with audacity up and running on my pc ( windows 7).I can get audio through the speakers but cant control the volume input, and it seems to just be stuck on full.I have tried lowering the mic input volume but still it doesnt seem to make any real diffrence. This is the first time ive used the ion tape 2 pc since installing windows 7 a few months ago.I can actually record the audio from the tape 2 pc,but as i said i have no control over the volume.I can slide the mic slider up and down but nothing,im at a loss as to how to get it working like it was befor, which was really simple.Any ideas/suggestions would be greatfully recieved.

This is the wrong forum for this post. I expect one of the elves will move it. Try going into Win7's Volume Mixer to set the output level of your device. Try going into the device's levels:

Double-click the tape-2-pc device, in the Properties choose Levals:

Let us know if any of this helps!

All of that was already done before i started this thread ( sorry it was posted in the wrong place ),so not sure what else i can do at the moment.I should also mention that the volume on the tape 2 pc is turned right down.In the meantime im transferring my cassettes with my edirol r09-hr recorder, which is fine, but it seems silly not to use the tape 2 pc deck as its a great way to transfer my tapes.

I moved this to the 1.3 forum beacause as you are using Windows 7 then you really should be using the latest 1.3 version.
I suspect that you are using the software supplied withn the ION and that is likely to be the now ancient and no longer supported 1.2.6
So for your first step, upgrade to 1.3 which you can get from here:
