Quick newbie question, won't take more than a sec (RESOLVED)

Post by Aleks_777 » Wed Jul 06, 2011 9:07 pm

Ok first of all, I wanna apologize because this is going to sound extremely silly. However, I'm trying to record some lyrics on to an instrumental song. I open audacity, open said instrumental but when I hit record I'm barely audible. I've tried upping my decibel count but that achieves nothing. What do I do?

Problem solved, it was the laptop's microphone. Used another one and seems to be working just fine. Thanks, koz and teh mods are free to close this topic whenever.

You need to build your system in our heads like a story. We can't see what you're doing.

"I walk up to my USB Logitech Desktop Microphone connected to my Dell Dimension laptop running Windows Vista."

Detail is good. There must be a million different ways to get your voice into the computer and they all have different problems.

I've edited the title to show the problem is resolved. It's better to reply than to edit your original post though, so that everyone watching the topic is aware.
