newbie question - Digitech USB cassette player (model no. GE

Post by janeoz123 » Tue Jul 05, 2011 2:07 am

I have recently bought the above model to record old cassette tapes onto CDs. When I put a cassette tape in to play, the sound is VERY slow. I can't seem to make it any faster. What's wrong? Is ther a setting I need to adjust? I have looked and can't find anything to adjust on the back or front of the cassette player. Can SKS please help me??

Thanks. Jane :?

Do you mean that just playing the cassette is very slow (nothing to do with recording?)
If that's the case - try a different cassette - the one that you are using may be sticking.
If this appears to be the problem, try winding the cassette all the way through by hand (put a pencil through the appropriate reel hole and start winding), then wind it all the way back again. This may free up the tape and allow it to work again. Old tapes can often become sticky and brittle, so handle with care.
