no sound ( when trying to monitor )

Post by lazzurus » Sat Jul 02, 2011 12:36 am

Hello

Maybe someone can help me before i through my netbook mixer and turntable out the window,

I have installed audacity beta version for windows 7.

I have a turntable connected to a mixer and connected to the netbook through the mic input ( line in )

I can hear the record playing through the netbook speakers ok. But after reading the guide it says to try and monitor the sound.
when i click on it, there is nothing happening. then if i click record i get a straight blue line............

so i have audio coming from the mixer to the netbook. i can hear it fine, but when i go to record anyhting or monitor the sound
nothing is happening.

ive tried in the netbooks volume ( realteck HD audio manager ) messing with all the volumes....
i get feedback if i put the mic volume too high....
i have a rc cable going into the line input, yet i can still hear outside sounds, like tapping from the mic when im typing

hope ive given enough info....

anyone got any ideas where im going wrong...

thanks
