I'm trying to sample music from a review collection of various television shows and their intro music.
Though it's rare (VERY rare) that I use the 'record whatever is currently playing' option, it's NEVER that I have used Audacity with Windows 7. This would be my first occasion, and I've tried to follow some on-line help/tutorials/wikis so kindly provided, I'm still not clear on How To Do It.
Please help me.
I know I'm a pain, in advance.

Please explain what goes wrong when you follow those instructions. On Windows 7, you will almost certainly have to list and then enable the disabled inputs to see if your sound device has an input for recording computer playback:

The much more professional way to do what you want to do would be to demux the DVD audio using DVD Decrypter or similar, install FFmpeg, then import the demuxed audio file into Audacity. That way you don't lose the quality you do by recording the DVD as it plays.

I appreciate the reply and help.

So, after posting, I went for a long walk and when I came back I was able to locate and enable the stereo mix option easily!
My main problem was acute myopia, caused by trying to do this kind of work within an hour of returning home from work.
