Problem Recording with upgrade to 1.3 Beta

3 weeks ago I got a turntable with 1.2 software included, recording on 1.2 wasn't a problem once I figured out I had to save file as AUP then export as wav, file, even though the sound level was very low on the recorded CD.
Now my Q for 1.3 is this, record a record & as it's playing you see the sound waves, end, hit stop & the recording becomes a single line & you cannot hear anything on playback! So what am I doing wrong?

I think I understand your question, but could you post a couple of screen shots to illustrate the issue. There is a screenshot tool in the Help menu of Audacity 13. Make sure that the "Save Images To" location is somewhere on your local machine that you have write permissions for.
Is your computer on a network?
Which version of Windows?

What's the total length of the recording?
How much free disk space do you have?
What are the settings in "Edit menu > Preferences > Directories"?

Sorry, it was the "Directories" tab that I was interested in.
(No problem that I can see with the settings that you have reported)

Sorry, but in the last reply you said (Quote) "Sorry, it was the "Directories" tab that I was interested in.
(No problem that I can see with the settings that you have reported) so I thought you didn't need the the Directories tab!
Anyway here is.
Location: C:Program Files (x86)Audacityaudacity_temp
Free Space: 602.5GB

I don't see any obvious clue there either.
Coming back to the problem description - I'm still not 100% clear about what exactly you are seeing.
I've looked again at the sequence of images that you have posted - could you describe what exactly is happening there.
Does "it" happen all of the time?
