1.3.13 isolate in noise removal

I can't find any info. on the use of the new isolate command in the noise removal effect in 1.3.13. Can anyone explain exactly what it does and the procedure for using it? This is my first time in the forum-I hope I'm following appropriate procedure!

Normally you wouldn't use it, but as it says in the manual (link in waxcylinders post) it allows you to hear exactly what the Noise Removal effect is removing. With a bit of creative application it could perhaps be used to optimise a noise sample for use as the noise profile in the usual Noise Removal procedure. It could perhaps also help to isolate background noise if, for some reason, you want just the background sound in a recording (but I've not experimented much using it that way). Read the manual page then have a play with it and experiment - it can be fun

I just checked out the manual and couldn't believe I missed it. I think I assumed my manual would be updated at the same time I downloaded 1.3.13. Since it wasn't I didn't look at the one on-line-I just checked the forum. It might be a good idea to include an updated manual with each new version download. Now that I know you don't, I'll check the on-line manual before going to the Wiki. Thanks, again!

You should be getting an updated version of the manual with each Beta release. The link I pointed you at is actually the manual "under development" and relates to the very latest Alphas (but these days very close to the Betas).

And don't worry about missing it - it's only because we know the manuals quite well that we know so quickly where to look
