No sound after export to either MP3 or WAV

-- Running 1.3.13 on Window 7.
-- Recording vinyl on Ion USB turntable. When plugging the turntable in, Windows 7 found the device and installed it, and it shows up under recording devices as Microphone (USB Audio CODEC).
-- When recording, I can see movement in the input and output level meters, and I can hear playback through my computer speakers wth no issue. I also see the waveform as it's being created. The project was successfully Amplified to -1.0 dB, and I've been able to save the project and reopen it and get successful playback of the project through Audacity.
-- The .aup and data files are in the same location as when the project was first created. Nothing's been renamed or moved.
-- The issue occurs after export. After exporting as either a WAV or an MP3 file (even to the same directory where the project resides), there is no sound whatsoever upon playback of the exported file. The exported file is of the appropriate size, and the media player is seeing it as a file of the appropriate length (the song I am testing with is about 4:00 long). I can still open the project and get successful playback in Audacity, so I feel like the issue is with the export process - something I'm missing. I've had to turn the input levels way down upon recording because even at low input levels I was getting some clipping, but the project file has consistently clean playback at the appropriate levels in Audacity.
-- I've read and re-read the tutorials. I don't know what I've overlooked. Any help would be very appreciated.

Can you hear any of these clips when you download and play them? (They're really short)

Other than Audacity, what specific media player are you trying to use? Do you have stereo speakers on your playback system?

This one will prove out your monitor system.

The last segment is supposed to sound a little wacky. Everything else should sound perfectly natural.

Are you recording in 32-bit and then downsampling to 16-bit WAV on Export - and if save are you using "Shaped Dithering"?

If so that me be your problem - I seem to recla there is currently a logged bug whereby when downsampling with shaped dither the audio file is empty of music. Workaround - use Triangular dithering.
