Which version of Audacity are you using? (Look in "Help > About Audacity" for the full version number).
Could you attach the .AUP file that has the problem to your reply. (See below the compose message box for uploading attachments).

The version I'm using is the 1.3 Beta. In another machine, it worked perfectly other recordings.

I'm after the third number - 1.3.??

The problem is that there is an invalid character in the .AUP file (the Audacity Project file). It is most likely in the metadata for the project, but I need to see the AUP file to be able to tell you exactly what the problem is.
