Newb Question - Adding music to recorded podcast

I recorded a podcast on Audacity for the first time yesterday. Although I am finding Audacity to be pretty intuitive, I had a hard time adding music to the beginning and end of my podcast without it overlapping the podcast audio. I was able to get the lame ext and export it to MP3 and publish my podcast, but I'm still feeling a little out of sorts where using different clips to create 1 file is concerned. :oops:

I am reading the manual now. Any other tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much! :)
