Recovery... PLEASE HELP
I've been working all day on a song, I added a little bass boost to the guitar track, to give it alittle something flashy. It crashed. When I recovered it after I reopened Audacity it was silent, filled up the exact same space as the song, (two track) and the audio wasn't even showing up in wave form... I there anyway to get it back?!
Re: Recovery... PLEASE HELP
I very much doubt it. It's times like this when you need your backup copy of the project.
We don't have enough information to be able to work out why it crashed, but to protect yourself from future tragedies, when you record something important, the first thing to do is to Export the recording as a WAV file so that you have a back-up of the original recording. While working on a project, save the project from time to time using "File menu > Save Project As..." and each time give it a unique name (for example, "project001", "project002", "project003" ...) so if anything goes badly wrong you have a trail of back-up points that you can return to.
