Change sampling rate and export multiple Issue

Post by Audioguy » Tue Jun 07, 2011 9:53 pm

I digitize my albums in 24bit/96Khz using Audacity. I make two files; one 24/96 FLAC, and an MP3. When using "Export Multiple", the FLAC files are created perfectly. Then when exporting the same as MP3, I get a pop box saying "Invalid Sample Rate" and there is a drop down box to choose from 32, 44.1 and 48Khz option. I always choose 44.1, but the pop-up box keeps coming back up after each track. Is there a way to say something like "apply to all" so it won't keep asking after each track?

I even changed the sampling of the entire album to 44.1 (after I had made the .FLAC files) and then tried to "export multiple", but the pop up box still comes up! I want to walk away and come back 5 minutes later and have all the files exported, not have to click and choose a sampling rate everytime. Is there a quick solution to this?

I'm using Audacity 1.3.13 - Windows 7 sp1 - 32bit

Highly compressed (low sound quality but small file size) MP3s do not support high sample rates. The greater the compression, the lower the sample rate needs to be. If you're still getting that pop-up with the sample rate set to 44100 Hz you must be making very low quality MP3s. What MP3 settings are you using?

My 24bit 96Khz sampling FLAC file goes on my home theater PC to play on my home stereo. The MP3 version I also make goes on my phone to play on the car stereo, so it really doesn't matter if it's lower quality (can't tell the difference on a car stereo anyway). I'm making a 256 bit MP3. This is being output as a 16bit 44.1Khz (same as CD). The problem is the box keeps popping up everytime and I want that to stop.

If you set the "Project Rate" (bottom left corner of the main window) to 44100 Hz, then Export Multiple will automatically export at that sample rate.
