Anyway to do an automatic Time Shift?

I'm using audacity to try and combine a massive amount of mp3 tracks together so they play continuously in a single line, one after the other. It would take far to long to use the time shift tool to move each mp3 file so that they play one after the other so i wanted to know if there is any way of making the software align the tracks one after the other automatically so that i could then export it and have all the files play as one without the need for manual placement. Thanks.

Audacity can't do what you want at the moment. There is a long-outstanding Feature Request for an Import Append command which would import by adding the new file to the end of the existing project. But don't hold your breath - no new development is currently being undertaken - the developers are in bug-fix mode to try and get v2,0 out the door.

But back to your underlying proble: why do you need to put them all in one big file? Would you not be better off creating a playlist in your music player software (whatever you use)? Apart from any other consideration, imprting MP3 and then re-exporting as MP3 will cause further MP3 compression damage.
