Hi,
I got the same error and was able to recover using the "Get the job done as well".
The one step that work was to blank out the value for tag "Software" in the metadata:
Then I was able to export to a WAV file.
I have attached a dumb down version of the broken project, which still exhibits the problem.
- Martin.

Re: Export to WAV Libsndfile error
Thanks for the project, Martin. However it would be more useful to have an example file that causes this problem when it is imported into Audacity. Is it an MP3? Can you tell us where you obtained it from?
If you can, please upload the file to a free file transfer service such as:
http://www.yousendit.com
http://www.megaupload.com
http://www.sendspace.com
and give us the web address where we can download it.
Also are you on Windows Vista or 7 and is that 32-bit or 64-bit Windows? And what three-section version number of Audacity are you using (see Help > About Audacity) ?
Thanks
Gale

Re: Export to WAV Libsndfile error
I pressed 'Clear' on the meta data (FL Studio 10 had inserted itself in there) then it exported. Also had an error the initial time I installed audacity (It was an FL Studio Violation), as if my system had been scanned for installed DAW's or something, perhaps unrelated.

BINGO!
marcfilmer, you ROCK!!
You know, you search and search and dig deeper and deeper to find the solution to your problem. Sometimes it seems to be a real Easter egg hunt.
Maybe this solution was already raised to the FAQ, maybe not. I'm as green as a forum user can get on the Audacity Forum, so I won't lie and say I
did already search the FAQ. Anyway, if this solution has NOT been raised to the surface, can someone (other that my green, little self) raise
it, if possible?
"I pressed 'Clear' on the meta data (FL Studio 10 had inserted itself in there) then it exported. "
(I'd jack the font to 72, if I could!)
Yes, this may only be a solution for FL users. If that's true, the surfaced FAQ entry could make that disclaimer, right?

Re: Export to WAV Libsndfile error [SOLVED]
Thanks for posting further down the thread, which makes the solution easier to find. I'm locking the thread and marking it [SOLVED] now, to aid that objective.marcfilmer wrote: I pressed 'Clear' on the meta data (FL Studio 10 had inserted itself in there) then it exported.
Audacity 1.3.8 or later scans for VST plug-ins and will come across (and should ignore) FL Studio VST instruments because it can't work with those. Are you using the latest 1.3.14 Beta?marcfilmer wrote: Also had an error the initial time I installed audacity (It was an FL Studio Violation), as if my system had been scanned for installed DAW's or something, perhaps unrelated.
It is listed in the 1.3.14 Release Notes (near the bottom of the section that link goes to).Evil_Patrick wrote:Maybe this solution was already raised to the FAQ, maybe not.
The problem is not unique to FL Studio files.
