I would like to improve the quality of the sound of recording of a TVprogram (yes, a soap). Therefore I have converted the sound into an mp3 file.
The voices are so muffled one can hardly understand what is being said (sample1).
Since it is mono I have managed to improve the sound by overwriting the right channel with the sound of the left channel. Noise reduction does not really improve matters (both steps in sample 2).
What steps should I take and in what order, to improve the sound, or is this a hopeless case?
The samples can be found here:

Hope someone can help,
Hanneke

Sample 2 is about as good as you'll get it.
