Been trying to use the recommended 1.3.13 Beta for Vista Home Premium 32-bit but the program just will not open. I have uninstalled, reinstalled and removed older version (1.2) but it doesn't work.
I am so frustrated. Microsoft is no help here. In fact they seem to not care at all about the problem.
When I try to start Audacity, all I get is a Microsoft Windows error message saying "Audacity, the free, cross-platform sound editor has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available".
What kind of message is that? A problem caused it to stop working? Huh? Audacity never even got started. And what problem are they talking about? Can they be anymore vague to cover up the fact that they do not know why it stopped? Furthermore, I never received ANY notification from them offering ANY solution. How would they tell me this information anyway? They don't have access to my computer since my remote desktop is disabled. Never gave them my email and/or phone number for them to call. What a cop out! How awful to mislead me and any other computer user.
My system meets all the minimum requirements so it can't be that issue. I was also running Audacity 1.2 with out any problems either.
Can you please help me to get this to start working?
Thanks so much,
