*How to Filter a Variety of Noises...?

Post by npags711 » Wed May 25, 2011 2:25 pm

Hi,

Wanted to see if anyone could help me with filtering/eliminating noises in an audio recording.

I'm not sure if the various noise samples can be eliminated while keeping everything else in tact but wanted to double check.

You'll find 3 attachments here - and I'll try to attach additional samples in this thread after - if it'll let me...3 is the max number of
attachments.

I'd really appreciate any help you guys could give.

Thanks - looking forward to it!

*by the way...is there a way to make the horizontal scroll operate with the mousepad touch scroll on a laptop?

If you suspect that they are irreparable, then I agree.

Your show is already echoey from the large room. Anything we do to suppress the noises is going to make that gargling/bubbling much worse. You have a data error or data interference to the show signals. It's also possible you're listening to somebody's cellphone trying to connect to a cell tower. Dit dit dit....dit dit dit... We get that occasionally at work.

You really need to stamp that out before you make any more serious recordings. You can't take that out in post production.

Did you do a test recording before you shot the show?

The recording is actually from a client - so everything has already been done...just trying to streamline things as much as possible and eliminate any noise we can.

I did a noise removal on multiple beep sections - that were on their own...without any talking going on simultaneously...but applying the same noise removal from those samples to other sections where beeps are present, wasn't effective.

Any suggestions with at least the beeps or anything else?

Just need to get quality as high as it can be and eliminate whatever possible...

Thanks Koz and Steve and whoever else that can help!

Unfortunately those beeps are not simple sounds, but contain a very large number of frequencies over a wide frequency range. It would be a long and arduous job to try and filter out each frequency, and even then, because there are so many frequencies, a large amount of the audio that you want to keep would also be removed. In short, removing the noise would also remove a large amount of the audio that you want to keep.
