I recently installed Audacity. Everything seems to be working fine when it comes to the actual program, however, every few times I press one of the buttons (Record, Play, Stop, etc), a windows error will pop up saying 'Audacity has stopped working, windows is looking for a solution'
This also happens occasionally if I leave the window open for too long.
This isn't the first time I've gotten this problem using this program. right now I am using a windows 7. Before it was a Windows XP with the same problem, if only worse.
Please forgive me, I'm a little technologically illierate, and this is as much information as I can give on the problem, but if you have any questions about it I will do my best to answer.

Could you check the exact version number of Audacity - look in the Help menu > About Audacity.
