I like the software, but the sound quality is poor. I'm recording from a CD player on the (dell) computer. The quality going that I record to Audacity is fine, but when I playback it is not good at all. Is that to be expected or do I have some setting(s) wrong?
thanks
Lefty

If you're trying to capture music from a Music CD, you shouldn't be doing it in real time. Use CDex or equivalent to "rip" the CD into WAV music files and use those.

I'm having the same problem, but with recording from a portable recorder. Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

Need a lot more information.
What's wrong with the sound?
What equipment do you have and how is it connected?

As far as sound, the volume is low when burning to a CD from itunes, despite using the compressor, eq, and g-verb while attenuating the gain.
I'm using a Tascam portable recorder (linear pcm) to import sounds to the computer using only audacity.
