hi,
i have windows 7 and am trying to DL Lame v3.98.3 for Audacity on Windows.exe.
i have tried several places to DL it.
I left click on the link and the Run Save Cancel DL box opens. I click save to the intended directory but then nothing happens. it sits at 0% downloaded as if stuck.
Has anyone seen this before?
Any suggestions?
I have disabled my firewall but still the same.
thanks

Audacity 1.3.x is now obsolete. Please use the current Audacity 2.1.x version.
The final version of Audacity for Windows 98/ME is the legacy 2.0.0 version.

Just for form, did you get Audacity from here...
http://audacityteam.org/download/
You should get Lame and FFMpeg from the same place. Don't bother with Audacity 1.2.
Those are the only stable releases. Do not try to use older software combinations or add-ons. It may be worth downloading Audacity again. I think it's still true that you can get a ZIP version of Audacity if the EXE fails.
Do you have your Windows set to show you file name extensions? It's probably good to do that, particularly if you're having problems.
Hidden File Extensions
-- Start > My Computer > Tools > Folder Options > View > [ ] Hide Extensions for Known File Types (deselect)
-- Apply (to this folder) or Apply to All Folders
-- OK
