exporting start and end points

I've new to Audacity. I've made a recording project with multiple tracks of various lengths, and I want to set the beginning and ending time points that will be exported to mp3 (cut out the few seconds at the beginning before the music kicks in, ending at the right point after the last track is done). This is something I've done easily in other recording software (i.e. Sony Acid) by just highlighting the time range to be converted, but I just cannot see how to go about this in Audacity and can't find any tutorials that address this. What's the standard method to setting start and end points? Thanks in advance!

There's several ways that you can do that. Probably the closest to what you are familiar with is to select the part that you want to Export, then "File menu > Export Selection"

See here for the full article in the manual about "selections" http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/Audacity_Selection

Thank you much, Steve! I suspected it was easy to find and do, I just had a blind spot in searching for it!
