Microphone sound too quiet when I input audio.
I have had major problems with my microphone noise. Basically I bought a professional mic so I could sing, my webcam mic had alot of noise. The microphone is too quiet on my PC, but to my surprise worked well on my laptop which is also with Windows 7. However when I input an audio of song instrumental the recorder sound becomes too quiet. I have no idea what is causing this, anyone ever had a similar problem.
Re: Microphone sound too quiet when I input audio.
I believe there is a "microphone boost" option in Win7, but I'm not on a Win7 system right now and I'm not sure where it is...
I have no idea why the mic input would affect your pre-recorded insturmental backing.
What kind of "professional" microphone? Almost all pro mics (used for performance or recording) are low-impedance balanced (with XLR connectors). This does not match the high-impedance unbalanced mic input on a computer/soundcard (which is usually low quality/noisy). Most "studio condensers" require phantom power which not supplied by soundcards, but is often supplied by the mixer, preamp, or audio interface.
P.S.
Here is something I found on microphone boost.

Re: Microphone sound too quiet when I input audio.
maybe my soundcard does not support the mic.
Now I have another problem, the recorded sound comes out of only 1 speaker or one side of the headphone.
The microphone I use is a dynamic microphone.

Set "Channels:" to "1 (mono)".
