Audacity Forum

I have an Asus Laptop with the New Intel sandy bridge i7-2630QM CPU, 16GB Ram, Win7 64 bit. Got Audacity 1.2.6 with another device driver. The Audacity site says it's not compatible with Win7, best to use vs 1.3. I downloaded it but it won't install. When I try to install it I get a Windows error message "Unable to execute file in the temporary directory. Setup aborted. Error 5: Access is denied." (I hate that "access denied"). I have ownership of the file and permission and all that, have tried to install it with and without vs 1.2.6 installed but no luck. Anyone else have this problem? Any help would be appreciated.

Download the Audacity installer to your desktop, then run it as the Administrator.
