I've tried to export a project directly to AC3 by using the command line export.
The audio is 42 minutes long, and the command line is:
p:aftenaften.exe -b 128 -s 1 -w 45 -dnorm 27 - "%f"
It begins ok and starts creating an AC3 file. Then after 2 or 3 MB, it just stops and freezes.
I left it for about an hour, but it was really stuck.
The only way to proceed was to kill Aften in the process manager.
I tried a couple more times, same result.
The few MB of AC3 created did play okay.
So I went back to exporting to Wave and using Aften on that.
I understand this is a new feature, I couldn't get it to work at all on older version.

"Aften" is also at a very early development stage (current version 0.0.8). You will probably find things improve in later versions of these applications.AlanHK wrote:I understand this is a new feature, I couldn't get it to work at all on older version.

Re: export via aften freezes
Gave it another try in 1.3.6.
Still freezes, but seems to get a bit further. I could export about 10 mins/11 MB before it locked up.
I suspect something to do with the piping.
Note that I do not have any problems when I use batch files to pipe from wavi or ffmpeg into Aften. So I don't think it is a problem with Aften itself.

Aften is derived from ffmpeg, it didn't start from scratch. It seems very stable and reliable otherwise."Aften" is also at a very early development stage (current version 0.0.8).

If you actually have a reason to think Aften is at fault, please explain.stevethefiddle wrote:And the Titanic was developed on the back of thousands of years of boat building experience.AlanHK wrote:Aften is derived from ffmpeg, it didn't start from scratch.
