Audio files don't show up in "Import Audio" dialog.

Hi,
just downloaded and installed the latest Audacity 1.3.13-beta. I've encountered a problem when trying to import audio file. What is strange is that it happens only when I set Polish language version in Preferences. Eg. when I choose "Plik -> Importuj -> Audio..." (File -> Import -> Audio...) I cannot see any audio file even that "Pliki typu:" ("Type:") drop-down list is set to "Wszystkie pliki*" ("All files"). In English version this drop-down list reads:

Code: Select all

All files
All supported files
WAV, AIFF and other uncompressed files
Ogg Vorbis files
Flac files
...
But in Polish version it reads:

Code: Select all

Wszystkie pliki*
*.aiff;*.au;*.avr;*.caf;*.htk;*.iff;....(the list is very long)
*.aiff;*.au;*.avr;*.caf;*.htk;*.iff;....(this list is also very long)
*.ogg
*.flac;*.flc
*.mp3;*.mp2;*.mpa
*.lof
It seems like that something is wrong with Polish translation. When Audacity is set to English everything is working.

It looks to me like there could be an error in the Polish translation file.
I'll see what I can find out.

In the mean time, you should be able to import audio files by dragging and dropping them onto the main Audacity window.

Thanks, a2m. It should be fixed in the next 1.3.14 Beta (or should be fixed in the latest 1.3.14 alpha "Nightly" Build for Windows 2000/XP/Vista/7 from http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Night ... s_Binaries) .

Yeah, I've noticed that I'm able to drag'n'drop files to the window. I think I'll just have Audacity language set to English until this is fixed. Thanks for a quick reply!

As Gale said, it will be (hopefully) fixed in the "Nightly" version which should mean it'll be fixed tomorrow.
To install the Nightly version, just download the ZIP file and extract the contents into you current Audacity installation folder. (you will also benefit from a couple of other minor bug fixes that have been made over the last couple of weeks).
