I have been having problems with opening the file once I have exported it as what i thought was a .mp3, or any other format for that matter.
I have downloaded LAME with no problems, and exported the file with no problems. But then once I relocate the file, it does not open with any program on my computer. I use itunes and winamp.
In fact, when I hover over the saved items icon (which appears as a blank sheet, as opposed to any recognised symbol), the file is noted simply as 'file', not WAV, MP3 etc.
I have tried to expot it using every option available, and still the same problem happens. I use Windows 7.
So what is going wrong, and what can i do to get it to work?

Re: Exported track does not open
It's possible to "force" Windows to show you the full filename. That goes a long way to solving oddball problems like this.
This may be a little ratty because I wrote it for an earlier Windows, but this is the idea. No power user should ever let Windows hide information.
Hidden File Extensions
-- Start > My Computer > Tools > Folder Options > View > [ ] Hide Extensions for Known File Types (deselect)
-- Apply (to this folder) or Apply to All Folders
-- OK
Do the files open in Windows Media?

Can you force Windows to save things to your Desktop? But then once I relocate the file, it does not open with any program on my computer. I use itunes and winamp.

Re: Exported track does not open
You can have troubles with files containing punctuation marks -- particularly slashmarks. Write dates like this: 20110413. Not 4/13/11.

Thanks, now I can get it to play, but I can't seem to get it to burn to any disc!
