Stopped recording ???

I have been recording songs from my record collection for some time now with great success . Today I went through my usual start up and I keep getting an error that says "Error while opening sound device .Please Check the input device setting and the Project sample rate". Yesterday I tried operating a new Pnp record player (Vibe Sound )and I think this may have something to do with the error I am getting. I think this may have captured my input device but I don't know how to restore it.
