Waveform starting on 0.5.. not on 0

Hi when i press the record button the blue waveform starts on the top 0.5 line , instead of the 0. i had audacity before and it started on the 0 line, just wondering if anyone knows whats going on, thanks

...except yours goes up instead of down?
That's DC Offset or battery voltage mixed into your show. It's an electronic mistake and your soundcard may be broken.
