How to record the stereo mix

How to record the stereo mix

So normaly to record the stereo mix or mono mix out of my computer i would go to preferences and then change the device but lately it has not given me the option of stereo mix in the list of selectables, what do i do.

Did you change anything? People post like you did when they get a new computer and are horrified that "Stereo Mix" is missing -- not an unusual occurrence. Newer computers are much more difficult than the older ones.
