Only recording left channel?
I'm using the realtek HD Audio Manager to record to Audacity beta with a microphone, but I have one irritating problem; it only records the left channel. I have my channel setting set to stereo, because that's what I prefer. I HAVE tried just mono, but I don't really like it. I've looked at all the recording balances in the audio manager, and they're all set to center, so I'm pretty confused. My microphone cord end is the larger kind that plugs into amps and such, so I have a converter that it fits into which plugs into my computer's microphone jack. I've tried both the front and back panels, and even the line in, but it's always just the left channel that records. The right doesn't pick up anything at all. Is there any way to fix this issue?

I presume that you are using a mono microphone?
Why do you want a 2 channel track?
To create a 2 channel track:
1) Record the microphone in mono
2) Select the track (it should already be selected)
3) Ctrl+D (Duplicate the track)
4) Click on the name of the upper track, then from the drop down menu select "Make Stereo Track".
