Have some lectures that would like to time compress with Audacity.

While I have found articles on this subject such as Time Stretching And Pitch Shifting of Audio Signals – An Overview http://www.dspdimension.com/admin/time-pitch-overview/

Also found postings on Avid Audio Forums http://duc.avid.com/showthread.php?t=126041 have not found any mention on Audacity.

Interested in any experience or suggestions using this type of app with Audacity.

Thanks

Ken

A good lecturer will carefully pace their speech for best intelligibility, so I'm wondering why you want to time compress them. The reason will determine the best approach to take. The simplest approach is to use "fast forward" on your tape/cd player.

"A good lecturer will carefully pace their speech for best intelligibility, so I'm wondering why you want to time compress them." Agree

Mainly to put the lecture on standard media. like 60 min. There was some run over that would like to squeeze in.

So am not talking about huge time compression

Steve,

Thanks for the link!

At least now I know what to search for. Search found 114 matches: +"Truncate Silence" Have not checked every one so far but will.
