I was recording an EP today with vocals, and I was using a singstar microphone (lol okay i don't have any other one right now) and it worked, for about 2 hours.
Then it just stopped recording from the singstar microphone, but from the laptop microphone, which quality is horrible.
I tried opening and closing, attaching the microphone to it's USB thing, (it was just plugged into the microphone port on the laptop) but nothing worked.
Does anyone know how to fix this?

If you're using an usb mic, you should connect it to the computer before opening audacity.
Like Cytheria said, go to Preferences -> Devices and make sure you selected the right recording device.
