ok, so I downloaded 1.3 beta for XP, im running it on dell dimension 4600, got a creative SB live sound card, installed drivers yet when I go to audio
on my pc there was no sound card detected, but when I go to device manager it shows my SB live soundcard.
I did the reboot, reinstall, placed my soundcard in a different port yet same thing. I cannot record.
I use turntables and a denon mixer, so mixer to rca-1/8 jack to the mic port at the back of the pc.
anybody knows what else I can do to fix this. really want to record from my vinyl records.

btw I also checked my preferences>device and on the drop down menu there was nothing, just blank.

hope you guys can help out. let me know what other information should I put down so it will make it easier for a solution.

regards,

djblitzz, sounds like you didn't properly install the right drivers for your sound card...

Is it only audacity that is not working properly? Do you have sound in other programs? Or you simply don't have sound in any program?

I dont have sound at all, I replaced the sound card, when I open the device manager I see my soundcard, but when I open audacity under the preferences there is no device detected hence no recording device. Just wondering if I missed something in between the change of sound card or installation of drivers.

Does your computer have any other audio device connected? (for example, on-board sound, or a USB audio device)
