Re: mic recording audio too low
Thanks Steve, I'll try, but I'm not that great at troubleshooting but I'll see what I can do.
Re: mic recording audio too low
Well this is tremendously frustrating, I checked and wiggled and cleaned all connections w/ no success, also I went into realtek audio mgr-> audio devices -> recording-> line in-> properties-> enhancements, clicked disable all sound effects but there was no change. So I connected the line out of my mixer to the mic in port of computer and there I got a strong recording signal albeit w/ some background hiss. I have to get my voice recorded for my upcoming radio show, will this connection be alright Steve?
Re: mic recording audio too low
The signal coming from the mixer should be a line level signal, which is considerable stronger than a mic level signal. Mic input on the soundcard is expecting a very tiny signal (from mic) therefore it puts a lot of amplification on it. Consequently amplifying very much the noise too. Connecting a line level signal to a mic input usually results in a lot of distortion due to clipping. But if it works for you with satisfactory results then go for it while you can't find a better solution...dhdd wrote:So I connected the line out of my mixer to the mic in port of computer and there I got a strong recording signal albeit w/ some background hiss.
