Hi,
I'm brand new here - and very in experienced with any form of audio processing. However I am faced with a rather important problem:
My wife who is a total digibetic, has to use Audacity for her pupil's oral exams at school. She knows how to tunr things on and off but that's all.
Now for some reason she managed to record one oral exam on top of another existing one, sort of like karaoke. You hear the old and the new exam mixed.
I've been trying to find out if there is a way to spilt the files she apparently mixed but so far I found no solution.
Van anyone here please advice me what to do? It would be detrimental for the girl to have to do the exam over again, she did exceptionally well but certainly
wouldn't be able to repeat it, and the exams need to be sent abroad for approval so she'd be hurt badly.
I hope you can help? Most appreciated!!!
Paul.

The final version of Audacity for Windows 98/ME is the legacy 2.0.0 version.

Re: VERY URGENT: How to split a joint Audacity audio file
Do you still have the original Aufdacity Project - hopefully with the two sesssions on two separate tracks (jst playing togother). If so use the time shift tool to slide one of them along the timeline so it starts after the first one.

Thanks for your reply. My wife brought just a *.wav (wave-) file home and isn't aware that Audacity made any other kind of file while recording. The only other thing I do have is besides this one with the tracks of two tests combined as a wav file is just the original file without the other on top of it.
I could go to my wife's school tomorrow but I have no idea what I'll see on that pc other than the wave file I have here too.
