Record what you hear

Hello everybody,
I am using Audacity 1.3 Beta for Windows 7 (with an integrated X4500 soundcard). The problem is, I can't seem to record what I hear. I just want to strip sound from a movie, but I haven't been able to get it to work.
I am sorry if this topic already exists in this forum, but I just spend hours and hours trying to figure it out by googling my problem, and I just want to stop the search and ask "the experts".
If you guys need any more specific details you need to solve this problem, I can reply
I really hope you people can help me, so I can get back on working on my hardstyle track
