Audacity 1.3.x is now obsolete. Please use the current Audacity 2.1.x version.

The final version of Audacity for Windows 98/ME is the legacy 2.0.0 version.

Record what you hear

Post by Dj Kata » Mon Mar 21, 2011 4:03 pm

Hello everybody,

I am using Audacity 1.3 Beta for Windows 7 (with an integrated X4500 soundcard). The problem is, I can't seem to record what I hear. I just want to strip sound from a movie, but I haven't been able to get it to work.
I am sorry if this topic already exists in this forum, but I just spend hours and hours trying to figure it out by googling my problem, and I just want to stop the search and ask "the experts".
If you guys need any more specific details you need to solve this problem, I can reply :) I really hope you people can help me, so I can get back on working on my hardstyle track :P
Thank you in advance,

Greets, Dj Kata

What you want is stereo mix, check this topic on the wiki: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Recor ... e_computer

Not all soundcards/drivers on windows 7 allow you to do that...

(moving to the windows forum...)
Include as much details as you can in your post (Audacity version, Operating System, Equipment used, etc).
Please post your question in the appropriate forum (regarding audacity version and operating system).
