Moving clips and labels together

Post by Mike A » Fri Mar 18, 2011 10:58 pm

Greetings to all - my first posting : )

I'm using Audacity to record and edit a spoken vocal track for a screencast. I need to adjust the timing, so i've added a label track, with multiple 'point' (if that's the correct term?) labels. I've then split my track by selecting both the audio and label tracks and using Edit > Label regions > Split. So far, so good.

Now my issue: If I select a range of clips I can drag them further down the timeline using the time shift tool, but I want the labels for those clips - and those clips only - to move with them. If I select the audio clips only - the labels don't move, If I select the audio clips and their matching labels - ALL the labels move.

Can I move just the clips I want - and just the labels that belong to them?

Thanks,

Mike A.

Currently the only way to do that is with cut and paste.

Select the audio that you want to move AND the label, and cut it.
Select the place on the audio track AND the label track where you want to move it to, and paste it.
