1.3.12 Effects PLEASE HELP

1.3.12 Effects PLEASE HELP

I just updated to 1.3.12, and effects WILL NOT preview (only silence) and when I apply them, it turns the selected region silent? I also have the VST enabler in the right folder, but none of my VST effects show up in the menu.... Please help me fix this.

Have you imported WAV files into the project and then moved, renamed or deleted them? Any effect will silence the region in that case because Audacity no longer has access to the files.

The VST Enabler is irrelevant to 1.3.12. Please click Edit > Preferences: Effects, check the "Rescan" box, click OK, then restart Audacity. See:

It is possible that some VST effects that are not appropriate to Audacity such as VST generators will have no effect or silence the waveform. If you have a VST effect that silences the waveform (other than when imported files are not available), please state which plug-in does this.
