Im using windows 7 and when I use Audacity to edit a piece of audio the audio fades in and its difficult to edit the begining or the song. When I press stop and try again its ok but its getting on my nerves. Can anyone help me please.

Some sound cards will do this when they are trying to work out if you have stereo speakers or surround sound. Check that your sound card is configured for stereo playback.
