Windows 7 running Audacity Beta 1.3.12
I had no trouble recording live vocals with my microphone. However, upon attempted playback within Audacity, zilch.
I exported the file as an MP3 and tried playing that file in Windows media player. Fine, it is all there and plays back.
I checked to make sure Audacity's speaker control was turned up. Yep.
I then closed Audacity and then re-opened the program, and tried opening both the mp3 and the audacity project. No sound is there for either the project or the MP3.
No play back for either projects or MP3s Windows 7

Re: No play back for either projects or MP3s Windows 7
my guess is in your preferences, you need to set your sound playback. perhaps it needs to be switched to another setting.
