Opening Sound Device

I am running 1.3x beta on Windows 7. When I try to record I get the following:
"Error while opening sound device. Please check input device settings and the project sample rate." I don't know what actions to take. Anyone know? thanks

Check in the Windows Control Panel that there is at least one recording device enabled (preferably the one that you want to use)

Thanks for your assistance. No recording devices are turned on (front mic, microphone, or line in)...says none of them are plugged in. None of them seem to address grabbing online feeds. Am I way off base?...Rick
