oops! problems with equalizer

Post by cjford » Mon Feb 28, 2011 7:50 pm

I am having difficulties with the equalizer on Audacity 1.3.12. I was messing around with it and now I can't get it to go back to its original setting. Additionally I accidentally deleted the "acoustic" curve profile (I didn't realize that was what "delete" was going to do!! oops) and now I can't get it back. I even tried uninstalling and reinstalling audacity, but the equalization is still messed up. Can you give me any help on this?
Thanks in advance!!

Julie

The Equalizer can be set to a neutral "flat Eq" setting by clicking on the "Flatten" button.

To restore the original pre-set curves list:
  • Close Audacity
  • Search your computer for the file "EQCurves.xml"
You will need to enable searching for hidden files because by default it is in a hidden folder.
  • Delete the file EQCurves.xml
  • Restart Audacity
