I have a Behringer UFO device, and am using Audicity beta running on Vista Home Basic on an eMachines box.
I have learned how to use the correct magic settings, and so I am getting recordings through my USB connection from the UFO.
Problem is, the volume is so much different between tape deck input and turntable input. Tape deck (old technics) is of sufficient volume.
Then, when I use a very old Kenwood KD-34R turntable, still in excellent condition, the input volume is much lower. When I crank up toe volume on my speakers to the max, I still get good quality sound, but the volume is somewhat low. I think it could be amplified further if I had an amplifier.
What I would like to do is somehow amplify it on input to Audacity, but there seem to be no settings.
Is there a free software product which will amplify the sound "normally" before conversion to mp3?

Re: Old turntable, low volume
When you record from the turntable you will need to move the switch on the UFO 202 to the "phono" position.
