Thanks for your help Steve.

Unfortunately, for whatever reason, when I plug in my ART interface, it automatically picks up the Audio Driver for 'playback' so I can use the headphone monitoring socket on the device, but it does not pick up the driver for 'recording'. I have contacted ART directly but am yet to get a response. As you have a much better knowledge in this area, are you able to tell me what driver Windows should be using automatically for this. As I mentioned before, in trying to correct the beep problem I may have inadvertedly deleted a driver.

On the other point of the beep - I have recorded today straight through the laptop microphone (although the quality is obviously no good in doing this) and the beep certainly doesnt occurr. This would indicate something to do with the driver I had previously downloaded for my ART device, that was causing the beep.

Thanks for your help,

Colin

If you look in the Device Manager, is there a yellow question mark or a red cross in the USB or Sound sections?

In device manager, the device is listed under 'Sound, Video and Game Controllers' as 'Audio Device on USB Bus 2.8.45, there are no yellow marks next to the device. In sound devices - the playback tab still lists the device a it does in device manager, but the recording tab continues to only show my Realtek microphone, no other devices. I am completely stumped with this. The device states it is compatable with Windows Vista and I have contacted ART's technical department last Tuesday but am yet to receive any response. Any ideas anyone can chuck in my direction would be gratefully accepted. Failing that I will sell on the ART product and look to buy something else instead.

Cheers

Colin

If you look in "Start > Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Sound" and select the Recording tab, is the ART listed and enabled?
If not, see here: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Mixer ... trol_Panel (scroll down a bit to the first picture below the blue text box)

Hey guys.
I'm getting the exact same beep as you. I run logic 9 on a macbook pro. I know the sound to be sourced from my usb guitar link. I can't think of a solution though... Any ideas?

You may have an expired demo version of a plug-in installed.
