Trouble with opening file, etc.

I got Windows 7 about a month ago, and am having difficulty in getting a MIDI or a an mp3 to play on Audacity 1.2.6. If I import Raw Data, I'll get the wav symbol where the sound records, but it's a fast sound and doesn't play. If I try to import a MIDI file, I get an error msg.

If I cannot use audacity on Windows 7, please let me know.

Please post in the part of the forum that is appropriate for your version of Audacity.

In this case I'll leave the topic here in the Audacity 1.3.x section, because that is the version that you should be using.
You can get Audacity 1.3.12 from here: http://audacityteam.org/download/

Audacity does not yet support playing MIDI files.
