Bug in the project is locking pc

Post by robsonsilvar » Mon Feb 14, 2011 1:00 am

Hello all,

I was using Audacity 1.3.x (Beta) when i have moved the mouse and the timeline has gotten a negative number, but a very low negative number. So i couldn´t goback to timeline zero, so i saved the project e closed the program.

Now, when i open the project, the Audacity get loading forever e my cpu get to working in 100% e lock the pc and moreover the project doesn´t open. i think the Audacity´s project is locking because the timeline is a very low negative number. I tried open the project by notepad to check the starts configuration, i see that a xml structure, but there are many things there. Can Someone help me??? I spent 5 hours in this project and i can´t open it more :(

Thanks!

steve

No guarantees, but let's have a go:
  • Make a new folder
  • Copy the folder "zoio de lula_data" into the new folder
  • Download the attached file and put it in the new folder
  • See if this modified project will open
  • If it does open, see if it will play

One of the things that I changed was some accented characters in one of the track names.
Audacity 1.3.12 does not fully support non-English characters, so for the present it is best to stick with conventional letters (a-z, A-Z) numbers, hyphen, underscore and space. These are all "safe" characters. I can't be certain if that was the actual problem as I also made a few other minor alterations to set display parameters within a very "normal" range.

Exact details for adjusting the recording level depends on the type of microphone, sound card and operating system, but usually there is an icon in the bottom right corner of the Desktop (near the Time/Date) that allows you to adjust the recording level.
