Hello, recently dl audacity its of greatest freeware around ,but i have a question i cant find out myself
My problem is:
I recorded an MP3 (through another program but thats not a problem) which is speech only.
The recording is at normal speech speed or mb a little slow ,but i need it to be very very slow.
I need to be so slow that i can write it down simultaneously while listening(i write quite fast but..)
First i try Tone editing and Tempo editing,it helped a little but i need slower, and then the sound gets mallformed.
so i thought that i need this->Some way,i can insert silence (like 'pause') at NORMAL periods of time
i mean: bla bla bla(15 seconds)-silence(f.e.10seconds)-bla bla bla(15s)-etc.
Of course i dont want ANY part of the first recording to be silenced i need some how to insert silence time at normal periods of time, like 20 or 30 seconds at my recording.
Is there anyway i can do this guys? it would be great to be done automatically periods, but even manually if i could do it,it would help
thanks

The long way:

Click on the track at a suitable point for inserting silence
Generate menu > Silence > select the amount of silence and click OK.

The quicker way:

Insert the first bit of silence as above,
Select the silent section (click and drag to highlight it) and press Ctrl+C to copy the silence.
Click on the track where you need the next silence and press Ctrl+V to paste the silence.

You can post the same bit of silence multiple times: "Click -> Ctrl+V -> Click -> Ctrl+V -> ...."

Alternative and perhaps even quicker:
Spacebar to start play
"P" key to Pause playback
"P" key to "un-pause" playback.
