Recording vinyl

Post by mustang » Sun Feb 06, 2011 11:19 am

I have an 20 year old pioneer system works perfectly well. Trying to record vinyl but there is lots of noise, like feedback. I had to recoonect the turntable cables having cut them a few years ago. Could this be the problem? Any help.

If you are feeding the signal from the turntable into the computer's mic socket that could explain a distorted sound, (should use computer's "line-in" socket) ... http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/How_ ... _equipment

Thanks I will try that, but I think I'm going through the line in socket.
